Apple's iPhone Fold is yet again the subject of a new leak, which shows off the dummy units of the smartphone, previewing what the device could actually look like once it becomes available.
The dummy units reveal that the iPhone Fold may possibly be unlike any other foldables in the market as it may focus on being wider than tall.
iPhone Fold Dummy Units Show Off Wide Foldable
Leaker Sonny Dickson shared the latest dummy units of the iPhone Fold on X, describing them as the first look at the expected design of Apple's upcoming foldable phone ahead of its anticipated launch later this year.
Apple has not confirmed a name for the device, with the industry broadly referring to it as either the iPhone Fold or iPhone Ultra.

When fully opened, the dummy unit features an approximately 7.8-inch inner display, giving it an effective screen area comparable to that of an iPad mini. That screen size makes it one of the widest form factors Apple has ever considered for a smartphone device.
The front-facing camera is positioned in the top-left corner of the inner display, as shown in the dummy unit images.
The outer display measures around 5.5 inches, and when folded shut, the device takes on a slightly shorter aspect ratio compared to current iPhones, resembling something closer to a passport-style shape, as per 9to5Mac. That closed profile sets it apart visually from every other iPhone in Apple's current lineup.
iPhone Fold: Here Are Its Rumored Specs
The inner screen camera is paired with two external rear-facing cameras on the back of the device. Instead of Face ID, the iPhone Fold is expected to rely on Touch ID through the side button for unlocking and Apple Pay authentication.
Should the rumor be true, this would be the first time that Apple brings back the Touch ID on iPhones since it last used it for the iPhone 8 series back in 2017.
As per the report from 9to5Mac, it is expected that the iPhone Fold will use the iPad's tablet app ecosystem to give the foldable smartphone a wide array of compatible apps and software on day one.
The build quality of the hinge is also expected to be a major selling point, with multiple reports suggesting the foldable iPhone's inner crease will be nearly invisible compared to rival devices.
It is known that Apple will base the thinness of the iPhone Fold or Ultra on the iPhone Air, which was released last year, with the dummy unit showing a similar rear camera island to the slim smartphone. However, instead of a single camera layout, the iPhone Fold would get two lenses based on the dummy.
iPhone Fold Is Rumored to be Coming Soon
Apple is widely expected to announce the iPhone Fold later this year, particularly during the fall season. Previous reports claimed that Apple would include the foldable smartphone with the announcement of this year's iPhone 18, but this does not necessarily guarantee that it will be released weeks after the announcement.
Dickson believes Apple may not offer multiple colors at launch, with white currently appearing to be the only option based on what the dummy units show.
Apple does have a pattern of launching entirely new product categories with limited color choices before expanding options in later generations.
