Cash App Launches Mobile Carrier Service Featuring a $40 Unlimited Plan Running on AT&T’s Network

Cash App is no longer just a fintech platform.

Cash App

Cash App is now doubling as a mobile carrier service operator that offers a single unlimited plan for $40.

Cash App Launches Mobile Carrier Service

Cash App describes the target audience for its new mobile service as "Modern Earners," a term it uses to refer to young adults, underbanked consumers, and gig workers who depend on reliable connectivity to manage their daily lives.

The company pointed to internal data showing that 46% of US respondents in a 2026 Cash App survey reported friction when paying recurring phone bills, framing the new service as a solution to that pain point.

The plan runs on AT&T's network, requires no long-term contracts, no credit checks, and no store visits, with activation handled entirely through an eSIM on a compatible device. The launch is currently in a limited pilot phase, with broader availability expected in the coming months.

"Modern Earners deserve mobile service that works as hard as they do. They're building their futures, managing multiple income streams, and every dollar matters," said Owen Jennings, Executive Officer and Head of Business at Cash App.

Cash App also noted that millions of its users already use the Cash App Card to pay their phone bills, making mobile service a natural extension of the platform.

Cash App Mobile's $40 Unlimited Plan

The $40 monthly plan includes unlimited 5G data, talk, text, unlimited HD streaming, and 10GB of monthly hotspot access within the United States. It also covers data roaming in Canada and Mexico, and the price includes taxes and fees with no additional charges tacked on at checkout.

The plan is integrated directly into the Cash App ecosystem, meaning users can manage their mobile service alongside their spending, savings, and financial tools all in one place.

Cash App said it plans to deepen the connection between Cash App Mobile and features like Cash App Green and Families, giving users new ways to earn and save on what it described as one of life's largest recurring expenses.

Runs on AT&T Network, Powered by Gigs

Cash App Mobile is built on infrastructure provided by Gigs, a connectivity platform that allows tech companies to embed carrier services into their own products.

"For years, connectivity has been built around rigid contracts and legacy carrier models that don't reflect how people live or earn today. Mobile connectivity is essential infrastructure for how people participate in the economy," said Hermann Frank, CEO and co-founder of Gigs.

Gigs has previously powered similar embedded carrier services for companies like Revolut, Klarna, Nubank, and OnePay. The company operates globally and handles the full stack of carrier operations, including billing, subscription management, and customer service.

Cash App Mobile uses AT&T's network for coverage, giving it access to one of the largest wireless networks in the United States from day one. With its broad user base, particularly among younger and lower-income demographics, Cash App's entry into the wireless market positions it as a direct competitor to MVNO services like Mint Mobile and Visible, which also target budget-conscious users looking to avoid traditional carrier contracts.
