History Channel Confirms Official Return Date Of 'Vikings' Season 4

The official statement came out after a fan tweeted to the official account of History Channel on the return of the historical TV series.

To an unfortunate end, the network hasn't revealed the exact date, but rather, gave a time span of when it will really come out. The tweet reply says "Season 4 will return later this year. Thanks for being a fan of #Vikings!"

The fan who tweeted to History was very grateful for the response he received, but this was not enough for other fans, as they insisted on knowing the exact date.

In the meantime, there are new set photos that show the new love spark between Ragnar and Lagertha. The first half of Season 4 ended with a time jump showing Ragnar's son to have grown as young adults after the previous scene where the Vikings were defeated in their failed Paris siege.

He imposed his own banishment and left without any signs, and then after a few years, returned back with a time jump. In the upcoming second half of Season 4, Ragnar Lothbrok slowly redeems himself.

Michael Hirst, the creator of Vikings tells EW that the second half will not focus on the things that happened to Ragnar in his own banishment. However, it will focus on why he returned.

Hirst says, "Obviously, time has passed. Ragnar had lost a huge battle, and actually, normally, in Viking society at that time, if your leader, Earl or King had lost in that way, they would quickly have been killed and replaced, because it was a meritocracy. But Ragnar was different because he was the most famous Viking in Scandinavia. But for him, the shame of losing was too great to stay around. He absented himself. But he was too famous to immediately replace."

It will truly be a sight to see when Episode 11 of Vikings Season 4 premieres.
