'Mass Effect: Andromeda' Features 4K Video For PS4 Pro

A plethora of guests attended today at the Playstation Meeting, among the guests were EA and Bioware. Both gaming companies presented on stage and showcased their upcoming titles, scheduled to harness the power of the PS4 Pro.

For those who just woke up, Sony has finally revealed a more powerful PS4 dubbed the PS4 Pro. The upgraded hardware allows for better resolutions at 4K plus better frame rates as well as claiming it to have better performance when paired with Playstation VR.

EA showcased their titles FIFA17 and Battlefield 1, which again they claim to take advantage of the PS4 Pros hardware specs and capabilities. They also showed off a technical demonstration of the much awaited Mass Effect: Andromeda, WeGotThisCovered.com reports.

As shown on the video footage above, the demo for Mass Effect: Andromeda is a pre-alpha release running on the PS4 Pro hardware, HDR mode is also enabled. For those who need to catch up, HDR or High Dynamic Range allows for a wide range of colors to fill on the display at once. This in turn would make the games look a lot better due to more colors on the palette, bringing the viewer closer to photo-realism.

As BioWare General Manager Aaryn Flynn narrates, the footage showcases Commander Ryder, who then joined by his buddies as they discover and explore a deserted space station. The video above can be viewed on any regular resolution device but it is highly recommended to watch on 4K capable device so that you can really tell the difference on what the game will offer during launch in regards to video quality - because gameplay is another story.

Originally set to roll out early this year, Mass Effect: Andromeda is delayed further towards early 2017. The game will be available on PS4 Pro, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
