Samsung Galaxy S3 Canadian Version Will Have 50GB Dropbox Storage

The Canadian version of Galaxy S3 is coming with 50GB Dropbox option. Finally!

Just a couple of weeks back, rumors were flying fast about the US carriers' decision of chopping 50GB free Dropbox storage with Samsung's latest sensation Galaxy S3. The same rumor included Canadian carriers also. But, finally the Canadian version is getting 48GB space in addition to the usual 2GB you get after creating an account with Dropbox (that too on all carriers), reported MobileSyrup.

When Galaxy S3 was launched, the Korean electronics giant announced that they will be providing 50GB of Dropbox storage for free. But some major US carriers such as Verizon and AT&T reported to have opted out of the promotional offer.

"Select carriers have opted-out of the promotion on phones otherwise eligible. Unfortunately, AT&T and Verizon are among these carriers not currently participating," Samsung said that time.

While Galaxy S3 packs in a reasonable internal memory space, ranging from 16GB to 32GB and 64GB and additional microSD memory cards to expand phone memory up to 64GB, news of breaking the deal with Dropbox had undoubtedly disappointed the Samsung enthusiasts.

According to the latest deal with the company, Dropbox will provide the 50GB storage space to the Canadians but only for two years. After that, interested users will have to opt for any of the existing Dropbox premium subscription plans to continue using the extra 48GB of storage space.

Samsung statement reads:

"New GS III users will receive a basic 2GB of free space with Dropbox (It is permanent). When they create their own Dropbox account or link their existing account to Samsung Apps, the user will receive 48GB more space through a promotional offer, for a total of 50GB. This is available for 2yrs."
