‘Labyrinth' Movie Investigates Tupac And Notorious BIG Murders, Johnny Depp Casted As Detective

It looks like actor Johnny Depp is going to try and unravel a mystery that has been bugging us for decades now; trying to solve both Tupac and Notorious B.I.G.'s murders, on film of course.

The actor, who has had some recent troubles in his domestic life, is slated to portray a Los Angeles detective who was tasked with investigating the murder of the Notorious BIG. The movie, which is titled as "Labyrinth" is going to be helmed by Director Brad Furman. The movie is based on the book by acclaimed journalist Randall Sullivan entitled, "LAbyrinth: A Detective Investigates the Murders of Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G., the Implication of Death Row Records' Suge Knight, and the Origins of the Los Angeles Police Scandal."

According to a synopsis of the book, it is about a decorated LA detective who was tasked to investigate a cop-on-cop killing. This leads him to figure out that the officer who was killed was someone who has ties to Marion "Suge "Knight, who was at that time the head of popular rap label, Death Row Records. This leads him to a trail of black officers who are secretly dangerous gang members and on the take with the mentioned rap label. All this finally ends with him having evidence that some of those dirty cops are behind the death of Notorious B.I.G and Tupac Shakur.

Johnny Depp's career has been plagued by a series of flops lately. With such duds as "Transcendence", "Mortdecai", and the much maligned "Lone Ranger", Depp needed a big win with his last outing as the mad hatter in the movie "Alice Through the Looking Glass." Well, that didn't exactly pan out, as the sequel to the 2010 hit did not exactly wow at the box office.

But if he pulls this one off, then he might see another career resurgence. Let us all hope that this one goes well for old Johnny.
