‘Dexter' News And Updates: Series To Have A Marathon, Spin-off In The Works

Beloved Showtime TV Series "Dexter" will mark its tenth year this October and even if the series has been gone after its eight season in 2013, the network wanted to celebrate the milestone.

"Dexter" follows the story of Dexter Morgan, which was played beautifully and remarkably by actor Michael C. Hall, is a blood spatter analyst who lives a double life as a vigilante serial killer. Throughout the series, Dexter is plagued by his urge to kill but was taught by his father to control his urges by diverting it to killing bad guys.

The series ended its eight season with Deb's (Jennifer Carpenter) dead body being dumped in the ocean by Dexter. Afterward, he was seen sailing off in the storm. A lot of fans thought it was the end of him, but it was later shown that he was alive and was living in a cabin somewhere in Oregon.

Knowing that Dexter is still apparently alive and well, fans have been clamoring for a ninth season of "Dexter." Showtime then made an awesome trailer for the celebration of "Dexter" with key scenes from the whole series which got fans even more excited.

Others are theorizing that maybe a spin-off is in the works with Harrison in his teenage years after discovering that his dad is a serial killer.

However, Michael C. Hall was quick to address the rumors of a comeback, "I can't even wrap my mind around that. And it's all just theoretical until there is some sort of script reflecting somebody's idea of where it could possibly go. But it's hard for me to imagine what that would be. Yeah, as far as playing Dexter again for an undefined amount of time, that's a little daunting to consider. But doing another television series, there's a lot of amazing stuff on TV. I don't want to do that right away. But I wouldn't say never to that."

But fret not, Showtime will have a marathon of "Dexter" starting October 1 as part of the show's ten-year celebration.

Season 1 to 8 of "Dexter" can be watched anytime at Showtime Anytime and Netflix.
