More than praises, criticisms came from left and right on social media. According to EOnline, a number of things that have seemed to irked the fans included the show's length. With West renting a whole island, it required a long bus ride to transport the models and the audience. Furthermore, it took an hour and a half until the show actually started, in which the heat made it much more uncomfortable for everyone.
Despite the harsh feedback, West sent out a tweet that stayed true to his Yeezy vision. He wrote, "It's our life's mission to create the most transformative experiences." He further added, "Each and every one's time, insight, and feelings are invaluable to us. We want to make people feel great. Thank you for embarking on this creative journey."
Kanye West is no stranger to intense criticism as all of his previous Yeezy collection has met some strong opposition. However, many believed that the downfall of his current collection is more of in the presentation, even if fashion critics did not respond well either to the designs.
Another complaint by many was the way the models seem to have been treated. As one of them fainted from the heat waiting for the actual show to begin, another had to wobble her way through the runway while one of them simply just took off her shoes, as Mirror UK reported. Many criticized the line overall, claiming it was all poorly made.
West's camp released a statement putting to rest any qualms that fans might have on the quality of the heels worn by the models who struggled. They cleared it out by saying that those were prototypes and will surely be smoothed out before the shoes are sold commercially.
Kanye West seem to be unfazed by the backlash. After the feud he's had with Taylor Swift in the summer, West is focused in devoting his time into Yeezy as he privately worked on his recent season presentation as he did before.
