Lumia 800 And 710 Users To Get Software Update Next Week

Microsoft did not dish out the best news for the existing Lumia users on Wednesday at an event in San Francisco.

While the biggest software maker will not provide the latest Windows Phone 8 mobile operating system to the existing Lumia users, they are not completely left out, assured the company. They have provided an update of 7.5 Mango operating system dubbed as Windows Phone 7.8. And, now Nokia has announced that the Lumia 800 and Lumia 710 will be getting the software update on June 27.

The latest Windows Phone 7.8 update will bring the new homescreen from Windows Phone 8 and some other minor features.

However, Nokia has announced its partnership with Zynga will make hit games like Words With Friends and Draw Something available for Lumia smartphone owners for a couple of months.

The new update will also introduce a new camera app that enhances smartphone camera functionality. Moreover, the new update will enhance contact sharing, data counter, internet sharing, flip-to-silence, media streaming and DLNA.

"When you pull that Lumia out of your pocket after you've received that 7.8 update, it will look and feel the same as a Windows Phone 8 device," assures Sullivan. This should keep many WP 7 users happy for the time being!
