Pokemon GO: Buddy System And Pikachu Shoulder Buddy

Update of the new "Buddy System", Pokemon GO's coolest new feature that lets you choose a "buddy" Pokemon to walk with, has began all across the globe. Fans have been dying to update their applications, consistently checking on App Store and Google Play, just to try out this new rewards system that Niantic has released.

When you've updated the app, you'll be able to select one of your Pokemon as your buddy, and based on the distance you cover, you'll now be able to earn candy on that type of Pokemon.

It would still required a bit of a grind as people have claimed it to be as the amount of candy you earn is still pretty low - calling the game stingy.

The coolest secret revealed however happens when you choose Pikachu as your Pokemon buddy. After walking 10 kilometers and people have discovered, it will hop on your avatar's shoulder. This had the social media buzzing over the easter egg, as it's a direct reference to the anime - about Pikachu and Ash's special infrangible bond. Much like the eeveelutions where you can choose what kind of eeveelution would you like your Eevee to turn into by naming them based on their trainers - Pyro for Flareon, Rainer for Vaporeon and Sparky for Jolteon.

Not everyone has received the update yet as the rollout has been gradual and slow moving. As to why, one of the probable cause are bugs but because of Niantic's bad start with communications, no one really knows for sure.

Another new feature Niantic released on the new Pokemon GO App update is preventing it from running on rooted or jailbroken devices. This raised a lot of violent controversy among the Android-rooted devices community.

The new Pokemon GO update now can also support the Pokemon GO plus which will be released on Friday.
