The Man Behind Starcraft, Diablo, And Warcraft Retires From Blizzard

Senior VP for Story and Franchise Development at Blizzard, Chris Metzen, let known to all about his retirement. A legacy of remarkable game design and innovation will be left with his footprints.

Videogames that are iconic surely has iconic masterminds behind them. For Blizzard's case, it is Chris Metzen. He is one of the brilliant minds behind Starcraft, Warcraft, and Diablo. Unfortunately, he has decided to let go of his VP of Story and Franchise Development job for an early but deserving retirement. Metzen has been with Blizzard for 22 years, a career that had him behind video game moments that have molded generations of gamers. He has played a key role in calm days of the South Korean Starcraft competitions that was the roots of eSports as well the World of Warcraft franchise, Game Rant reports.

Metzen announced his early retirement internally to Blizzard last Monday and then created a goodbye post in the official Blizzard forums. The post contains explaination to his fans as to why he has chosen to take an early exit at the young age of 42:

"Being home with [my family], having time and space to really live...to love my wife with all my strength...that's my career now."

Metzen is very well known as the mind behind the epic that shaped Blizzard games, via creative writing and convincing enough to aid as the inspiration for Warcraft - deemed the most successful video game of all time. Other of his huge contributions go to Starcraft and Diablo.

Gamers all over the world who have been moved and influenced by the mentioned classic Blizzard titles (Starcraft, Warcraft, and Diablo) have to wish for the best to the man who was creative enough to foresee those games into reality. The possibility of him coming back from retirement is greatly welcomed to pave way for some more awesome games.
