‘American Horror Story’ Renewed for Season 7; 'Roanoke' Brings Out Haunting Fan Theories

“American Horror Story” has gained millions of viewers since its pilot episode back in October 2011. The series, which is a horror anthology, became a household name after attracting and convincing viewers all over the world of its haunting plots.

Now on its sixth season and still going strong with a new storyline entitled “American Horror Story: Roanoke”, it has been reported that the popular television horror series is getting another new installment. John Landgraf, CEO of FX Networks and FX Productions, said that the team behind the hit TV series is honored to have the opportunity to air the show for another season. With the "American Horror Story" anthology being extended, viewers will expect more original and inventive stories to keep them on their toes. Season 7 is set to air in 2017.

While the news of “American Horror Story” being extended for another season are making rounds, fans are up and about thinking of plot twists and theories of how Season 6 will turn out. The “Roanoke” season has just started last month but it has already brought up questions and even crazy conclusions.

Some have speculated that the season is actually a reality television show being controlled by none other than Billie Dean Howard, a character who has returned for the season, which can explain the uncanny resemblance between the “Roanoke” and “Murder House” anthologies.

Other popular fan theories concluded that the interview subjects, namely Lee, Matt, and Shelby, are actually ghosts, and that Lady Gaga’s character, the Swine Witch might actually be pregnant with Matt’s baby after they hooked up in the forest. Cuba Gooding Jr. plays the role of Matt.

Whether or not the fan theories may likely be true, it is too early to root on a hunch as the current season has only released three episodes. “American Horror Story: Roanoke” airs every Wednesday at 10pm on FX.
