Pokemon GO Update: Earn Your Medals And Find Rare Pokemons

For the remaining Pokemon GO fans, here is another update that will surely excite you: Niantic Labs announced a new update that will bring an interesting feature to the popular game.

The new update will bring a "special bonus" allowing trainers to collect a specific Pokemon type easier.

If you have been playing Pokemon GO already, you will know that as you go forward in the game, you earn medals (for example, you caught 100 water-type Pokemons).

The medals that you earn will play a big part in the new update. The avid gamer will get a special capture bonus depending on the medals earned. The special capture bonus will help you in improving your chances to capture a certain Pokemon type.

For instance, capturing a big number of fire Pokemons will win you a Kinder medal. The Kinder medal will allow for a special boost that will aid you in finding more fire Pokemons, especially the rare fire Pokemons.

Niantic further confirms the new update as below:

We are adding a new feature which grants a catch bonus when you earn medals based on catching certain types of Pokémon (Kindler, Psychic, Gardener, etc.). These new bonuses will give you a better chance of capturing Pokémon with a related type. For example, as you reach a higher tier for the Kindler Medal, your bonus to catch Fire-type Pokémon such as Charmander, Vulpix and Ponyta increases.

Trainers can work their way to a new tier by catching many Pokémon of the same type. If a Pokémon has multiple types, your bonus will be the average of your bonuses for each type. For example, Pidgey is both Normal and Flying type. Your bonus in this case would be the average of your Normal-type and Flying-type bonuses.

So far, there is no confirmation as to when the specific updates will be released.
