Microsoft has finally confirmed its unveiling event of the month, which will take place on October 26th. While the event is not expected to be as hardware-heavy as the company's 2015 event, a number of new and impressive products are still expected to take the stage. These products include Windows 10, the Surface Desktop and various Surface Accessories.
As Engadget notes, the event will take place on October 26 in New York City at 10am ET. And while various updated and new Surface Products are expected to be revealed, the night is being publicized as a Windows 10 reveal. As such, it can only be assumed that the Redmond-based company will focus on its software product.
The newest features and developments made to the operating system will be put under a harsh spotlight. Specifically, Ars Technica reports that Microsoft is likely to announce what the public can expect from the Hololens and the Xbox One, as well as multiple other OEM products. The event will furthermore focus on two Windows 10 updates that are expected to roll out in early 2017.
In last year's event, Microsoft set the stage for the Surface Book, Surface Pro 4, Lumia 950 series and the Microsoft Band 2. The hardware expectations for this year are far less varied. They do, however, include a Surface Desktop.
The new product, which is expected to be an all-in-one unit, will be released out of the box sporting all the new updates to Windows 10. The Surface Desktop, which is rumored to have a sleep and modern design is expected to come in three variants - a 21-inch display with full HD resolution, as well as a 24 inch and 27-inch option that both come with 4K resolution. Various accessories are also expected to arrive with the Surface Desktop.
These accessories include a Bluetooth keyboard with chiclet keys and a brand new Surface Mouse. At this point, it is unclear whether or not the accessories will work with all Surface products, or if they will be specifically produced for the Surface Desktop. All things will become clearer as the event draws nearer.
