‘Sherlock’ Season 4 Spoilers: Series Will Come To An End; Tom Hiddleston To Play As The Third Holmes Brother?

Looks like fan favorite TV show "Sherlock" will bow out with a bang as everyone's favorite god of mischief, Tom Hiddleston, is rumored to play as the third Holmes brother.

Fan girls everywhere rejoiced as it seems like the rumors could have a hint of truth to it as "Sherlock" alums Mark Gattis and Amanda Abbington were seen doing some photo ops with Tom Hiddleston at Comic Con.

Mark Gattis, who stars as Mycroft Holmes in the hit series, used the phrase "Blud" to caption the photo on Twitter.

Viewers might remember that Mycroft Holmes hinted at a possible other sibling for the Holmes clan. His line in the season finale of "Sherlock's" third season was:

"I'm not given to outbursts of brotherly compassion. You know happened to the other one."

So everyone knew that there would be a third brother, but getting Tom Hiddleston? Looks like the show is fulfilling the Internet's ultimate fantasy.

The BBC store was quick to capitalize on all this hoopla as they made a fused clip of Benedict Cumberbatch from "Sherlock" and Tom Hiddleston in "The Night Manager," giving fans more to scream about before they actually reveal if these rumors are really true.

In much sadder news, Cumberbatch who made the character a smashing success has hinted in an interview that the show might be coming to an end after its season 4 run. This is what he had to say:

"It might be the end of an era. It feels like the end of an era, to be honest," he said. "It goes to a place where it will be pretty hard to follow on immediately. We never say never on the show. I'd love to revisit it, I'd love to keep revisiting it, I stand by that, but in the immediate future we all have things that we want to crack on with and we've made something very complete as it is, so I think we'll just wait and see. The idea of never playing him again is really galling."

Well if that is the case, bringing in Tom Hiddleston to play as the Holmes brother is the right way to end a show as iconic as "Sherlock."
