Pokemon GO Update: FastPokeMap Back In Two Weeks Via Reverse Engineering?

Pokemon Go players may once again use the FastPokeMap two weeks from now. Developer hopes it could get some help in reverse engineering the 0.39 API.

FastPokeMap Update on Pokemon GO Return

The FPM dev admitted recently that its Pokemon Go tracker app has been disabled by Niantic by way of captcha safety net. But FPM has not yet given up. The dev posted a tweet on October 9 that the FPM app will be back in two weeks.

How Can FastPokeMap Return to Pokemon GO?

The FPM developer did mention that the tracking app's successful return to Pokemon GO will depend on the speedy reverse engineering of Niantic's latest 0.39 API, according to Pokemongohub. This could pose a big stumbling block for FPM and other Pokemon GO third party tracker developers.

Pokemon GO 0.39 API Reverse Engineering Unlikely?

The Pokemon GO reverse engineering forum has seen better days. Industry observers believed that Niantic's continuous API update has worn down most of them. So far, there is no news or even rumors about any attempt to reverse engineer the 0.39 API.

FastPokeMap Developer To Pursue Reverse Engineering

FPM developer is not deterred by the lack of enthusiasm from the reverse engineering community. The developer is reportedly hiring reverse engineering programmers to help bring FastPokeMap back to Pokemon GO.

The FPM dev also pointed out that any reverse engineering they uncover on the 0.39 API will not be distributed to other developers unless they pitched in.

Why Pokemon GO Players Use Third Party Trackers

Many Pokemon GO players have become dependent on third party trackers mainly due to the perceived inadequacy of the in-game's tracker. Many players contend that if Niantic simply improves the Pokemon GO tracking system there will be no need for an outside app. For now, players have the option of quitting the game until a reliable tracker come up or keep on playing Pokemon GO without the third party trackers.
