2017 Sierra HD All Terrain X Review: GMC's Latest Off-Road Masterpiece

Earlier this year, GSM unveiled a beauty on the off-road motor segment, the Sierra All Terrain X. However, the company has since produced something even more powerful, the Sierra HD All Terrain X. The new unit not only boasts of the best and most powerful off-road specifications but also includes features that make the entire experience all the more enjoyable.

As Car And Driver notes, the new Sierra HD All Terrain X has four-wheel drive, as well as other standard Terrain X features. This includes a spray on bed liner, a heated steering wheel, front and rear park assist and leather seats. There is also the off-road suspension package, which comes with twin-tube Rancho shock absorbers, an underbody skid plate, and hill descent control.

Naturally, the Sierra HD All Terrain X has more to offer than any other member of its family. That is, features that are specific to the model, including 18-inch black-painted wheels that are enclosed by Goodyear DuraTrac on- off- road tires. The vehicle also features a bed-mounted sports bar, black side steps and a body-color grille surround and door handles.

The new GSM vehicle is available in black and white. It also sports a black bumper trim with black mirror caps and beltline moldings.

As Motor Authority adds, the Sierra HD All Terrain X is available in two different power options. The first is a 6-liter V-8 engine with 360 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque. The second option comes with the new 6.6 liter Duramax turbo-diesel V-8 with 445 horsepower and 910 lb-ft torque.

GSM has not released an official pricing yet, but it is estimated to be priced upwards of US$57,000, which is the current price of the brand's Sierra 2500 HD SLT crew cab. The Sierra HD All Terrain X goes on sale in the early part of 2017.
