Red Dead Redemption 2, A Prequel Of The 2010 Western Action-Adventure Game?

Social media is indeed a great way to communicate with your audience but it seems that Rockstar Games didn't expect the hype train that's coming their way on their latest tweet yesterday. Fans all over Twitter have made an insane amount of tweets about the game's teaser yesterday. Most of them are looking for a definitive answer for what seems to be a foreshadowing of Red Dead Redemption 2. Now a redditer might just have uncovered the secret behind the cryptic message of Rockstar Games.

Red Dead Redemption 2: A Continuation or A Prequel?

A recent Reddit post has piqued the interest of the many after it reveals of what seems to be a clear depiction of the previous characters from the game; showing the high possibility that the upcoming iteration could be a prequel of the main story. Here is the official reddit post:

Can you see the actual resemblance?

Well, it could be practical for Rockstar Games to make an actual prequel of Red Dead Redemption considering that they might want to show the lives behind the two main protagonists of the game. With regards to the additional five characters, there's an ongoing theory behind this one.

Red Dead Redemption 2: Co-op Mode

One of the theories that are circulating the web lately is the fact that the new iteration of Red Dead Redemption could imply a co-op mode much like of the Left 4 Dead franchise. Rockstar Games is famous in making close relationship between its audience and their game's protagonist. Just like in GTA V, they've somehow established a close bond between the audience and their protagonists: Travor, Franklin and Michael. It's a revolutionary feat of introducing 3 protagonists which then you can freely choose and switch during the game whilst still maintaining a distinguishing relationship among three characters. But will they repeat the same strategy on Red Dead Redemption 2?

No they won't. Primarily because it'll take a considerable amount of time to establish this "bond" among characters and it's almost impossible to create 7 playable characters where you can freely choose and switch during campaigns.

So the quick answer for this is that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be a co-op mode where you can still select 7 playable characters while striding to a common group campaign.

What do you think of the theory guys? Do you think Red Dead Redemption 2 will be a prequel of the story? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below!
