Samsung Took Down YouTube Videos Of Galaxy Note 7 Bomb Mod For GTA V

Samsung's Galaxy Note 7 has had its rough days as it was being reported to be an explosive hazard. Several reports came to be which forced the company to do a total recall of all purchased units and exchange them for a more stable version. Unfortunately, the replacements also had the same problem which ultimately made the company decide to totally stop the production of the particular model.

The story doesn't end there as a mod for GTA V allows gamers to use the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 not as a phone but as a sticky bomb. Yes, a sticky explosive in a form of Samsung's intriguing phablet. The mod was created by HitmanNiko, details can be seen on his mod page. The mod's intention is purely satirical as it is the main essence of GTA.

The takedown

Just in, Samsung seemingly doesn't see their phone models in the game portraying an explosive device as a satire or funny in any case. The company is currently trying to take down any of its information on the internet - completely, as reported by The Verge. The company is now issuing a Digital Millennium Copyright Act takedown particularly at YouTube videos showcasing the mod.

On the other hand, good or bad publicity is still publicity. People think it may have helped with Samsung's PR crisis. The Verge thinks that the way Samsung reacted is done wrong, over-reacting and even misusing the DMCA. As stated above, the mod is clearly for fun and no intention to discredit the phone model or the company.

YouTube videos about the Galaxy Note 7 bomb mod have been gradually taken down starting today. As for the mod creator, there are no official information as to Samsung has reached out to him. As per The Verge, Samsung should have used their resources in helping real customer victims of their exploding device rather than chasing a unicorn in a form of taking down YouTube videos. Here's one YouTube video with a Spanish title, we think it will take long to take this one down since it is not in English. If this is indeed taken down by the time you read this, well, too late:
