Google Assistant vs Apple's Siri: Virtual Assitants Face Off

Google unveiled Assistant with Android 7.1 Nougat, and the feature is currently exclusive to Pixel and Pixel XL smartphone users. Google Assistant is a heavy evolution of Google Now and works more in the fashion how Siri does. On the other hand, Siri is an intelligent personal assistant and knowledge navigator of Apple Inc.'s iOS, watchOS, macOS and tvOS operating systems. It was acquired by Apple on April 28, 2010.
In his latest video, popular YouTuber Marques Brownlee squares off the two flagship devices against each other to find out which phone has the better voice assistant by asking them the same question at the same time.

Starting out with some basic queries, such as "wake me up at 7:30 tomorrow morning," and "what's Tesla's stock price?" both Siri and Google Assistant are up to the task and perform dutifully.

In about 3 minutes, Siri shows its first sign of failure. When both virtual assistants are asked who the president of the United States is, Google Assistant is quick to give the correct answer. Siri, on the other hand, throws the query to Bing and lists out a few search results. When Brownlee next asks, “How tall is he?”, Google Assistant recognizes that the context of the question is Barack Obama and returns the correct answer. Siri, remains clueless and once again returns Bing search results. However, when straight up asking, “How tall is Barack Obama?”, Siri is able to answer quickly.

Brownlee ask another question, "Who won the Super Bowl?" While both assistants response fasts, Siri's answer contains more information than of the answers of Google Assistant.Aside from telling who won the Super Bowls, just like what Google Assistant did, Siri was able to provide the per quarter score and the final number.

According to TNM, while there was little difference in speed between the two virtual assistants, Siri was often a split second faster to answer. However, Google Assistant seemed to provide more accurate and detailed results - and also more relevant when taking into account previous searches.

Here is the video test that Brownlee did. Find out who is better and who is the best
