'Ashes Of Ariandel' DLC For Dark Souls 3 Is Now Officially Live On All Platforms

Darks Souls 3's Ashes of Ariandel DLC is now officially live. Despite being accidentally made public to the consoles, Bandai Namco still pushed through the release of the game on its scheduled date. It is now available on all platforms worldwide.

Premature Release On Xbox One

The DLC arrived on console earlier than what was planned. Xbox One players were able to download the game for a brief period of time. In response to GameSpot's request for statement, Bandai Namco stated:

"Due to a logistical error, the Dark Souls III Ashes of Ariandel DLC was made available for download for a short period of time for Xbox One players. We have since corrected this scheduling error and the Dark Souls III Ashes of Ariandel DLC will now be available on October 24, 2016, at 3 PM PDT for Steam players and October 24, 2016, at 9 PM PDT for console players. We regret any confusion this may have caused to players and Dark Souls III fans; we look forward to seeing everyone within the world of Ariandel."

The First Dark Souls 3 DLC

Ashes of Ariandel is the first DLC released for the game. It contains new features such as maps, weapons, shields, armor sets, and bosses. There is also a new Ash and Ammunition that comes with this downloadable content. This expansion is free for Season Pass holders and costs $15 for non-holders but can be bought as a bundle with the unannounced second expansion for $25.

How To Access The DLC Area

In the main story, navigate your way to Cleansing Chapel located in the Cathedral of the Deep. Once you get there, face the altar and look for the kneeling NPC to the right of the bonfire. Wait for him to finish mumbling and talk to him until he gives you a mission. Accept the mission then you will be transported to 'The Painted World Of Ariandel.'
