OnePlus will be launching its latest phone, the OnePlus 3T before the end of the year. It is rumored to cost an extra $80 because of the "upgrades" on it.
According to First Post, OnePlus is currently working on an enhanced version of the OnePlus 3 with a newer processor and a better display. The OnePlus 3T is expected to be launched at December.
About the reason why the OnePlus 3T is going to be $80 more costly, it is because of two things: a new processor and a new sensor. The Oneplus 3T is believed to sport the Snapdragon 821 and a Sony IMX398 sensor.
Another rumor surrounding the OnePlus 3T is that it will switch to LCD screen panels. But Carl Pei, one of the co-founder of OnePlus was quick to clarify via Twitter that the company is not moving away from Optic AMOLED display panels.
About more on what to expect from the OnePlus 3t specs and details, there is a list written at Pocket-lint that compares the OnePlus 3T from the OnePlus 3:
With the design of the OnePlus 3 which measures 152.7 x 74 x 7.55mm that hits the scales at 158g and comes in Graphite and Champagne Gold color options, it is believed that the OnePlus 3T to offer the same design along with a fingerprint sensor and USB Type-C. Sot there won't be much of a difference there.
The OnePlus 3T is also rumored to offer the same display resolution and technology as the OnePlus 3. It also includes a Corning Gorilla Glass.
Compared to the OnePlus 3 that features a Snapdragon 820, 6 GB RAM, 64 GB storage and a 3300mAh battery, the OnePlus 3T is expected to feature Snapdragon 821, 6 GB RAM, 64 GB storage and the same 3300mAh battery. So yeah, the only difference is the Snapdragon chip.
There is no difference. It will still feature a 16-megapixel rear snapper with phase detection autofocus and 4k video recording capture, and the front camera is 8 megapixels with 1.44 µm pixels and fixed autofocus.
It is said that the OnePlus 3T will be launch on the OxygenOS, just like the OnePlus 3. So there will be no difference with the performance issue in comparison to its predecessor.
The OnePlus 3T is rumored to cost around $480 because of the Snapdragon 821 and the Sony IMX398 sensor. Still, it is worth it.
