LG to Unveil Extended Google TV Line-Up at CES

It was just two Google TV models in 2012 from LG. But the Korean manufacturer has different plans for the next year. In 2013, LG plans to launch an extended line of Google TVs in 2013 - in seven models and five screen sizes including "42/47/50/55/60" display sizes. The extended LG Google TV line-up will be introduced in the next month's 2013 International CES in Las Vegas.

The new models will include five GA6400 series sets in 42- to 60-inch sizes and two GA7900 models with 47- and 55-inch Cinema Screen panels. LG will introduce zero-bezel screens and new stand design for Google TV devices in the coming year. The new line up will also see Google TV 3.0 software built-in along with Onlive cloud gaming.

"LG is committed to providing diverse home entertainment options that offer the most satisfying user experience and the latest LG Smart TVs with Google TV do just that," said Havis Kwon, President and CEO of the LG Electronics Home Entertainment Company. "They deliver a stellar user experience by merging the latest Google TV platform with LG's proven Smart TV technology. The result is a comprehensive system that is groundbreaking in its simplicity."

The second generation Magic Qwerty remote is one of the notable features in the new models. The feature will enhance the effectiveness of Voice Search and the PrimeTime quick guide. The entire user interface can be navigated with the new Magic Qwerty remote. With the built-in microphone in the magic remote, users can utilize the Siri like function where one can just say "go to BBC" and the Google TV will bring up the channel. It also provides you with the option to speak a saerch term like "romantic comedy" and the smart TV will produce an on-screen list of programs available in that genre.

The "Home Dashboard" offers a feature called "Cards" that brings together all the apps and other content while another card named "My Interest" displays useful information including real-time weather and customizable news.
