Pokken Tournament Unveils Its Newest Fighter

Pokken Tournament has finally revealed their latest Pokemon character that is set to debut in the game. There are lots of speculation about the new fighter in the past days and this day marks the end of these rumors. Apparently, the new fighter is not highly expected since the previous leaks pointed out to another Pokemon character. Based on the report, the toxic frog Pokemon Croagunk will be joining the current set of rosters in the game.

According to Attack of the Fanboy, the revelation was done via the recent Pokken Tournament stream. The video footage grants players some of Croagunk's impressive moves including the animations and quick movement speed. After the revelation of Scizor couple of days ago, fans of Pokken Tournament are starting to speculate which character will be arriving next.

Based on the report from Game Rant, the previous leaks had also confirmed the pending addition of the legendary Pokemon Darkrai. In addition, before Croagunk's revelation, several fans thought Empoleon would be the next character added to the roster until The Pokemon Company confirmed that Croagunk will be the next playable character.

Croagunk is considered as an unusual addition in Pokken Tournament since it was previously categorized as a support Pokemon. The toxic frog Pokemon will contribute as a solid obstacle for faster Pokemon as it loves shooting and weaving around incoming projectiles and attacks. However, it would withdraw shortly after it has served its goal. As a result, fans never saw Croagunk being a feasible fighter, but the trailer shows that Croagunk has a lot to show than fans have thought.

Unfortunately, the latest Pokemon addition such as Darkai, Scizor and Croagunk will not be available on the Wii U version of the game as of now instead they will arrive first on the Pokken Tournament's arcade machines in Japan. It is odd for the fans unable to receive the downloadable fighters on their home console version, especially the game managed to sell out well. However, Nintendo might plan something bigger knowing that they have recently announced Nintendo Switch. As of now, Nintendo have not yet issued any official statement about the details on the latest hardware.
