Animal Crossing Update Glitch: Players Selling Theirs Town Got Scammed

Animal Crossing: New Leaf just got a new update. However, players were surprised that the recent update has a nasty glitch that scammed them into deleting their town.

How The Scam Work (Pardon The Pun)

The glitch occurs when Animal Crossing: New Leaf has been updated. Players who are interested to sell their towns have to go to Tom Nook. Selling the town will enable players to start fresh again. Unfortunately, Nook does not show up and instead the player's town gets deleted, according to Kotaku.

The sales transaction for the town begins with Isabelle who is in the Start Menu. Before starting a new town, Tom Nook will first appraise the real estate before either offering a lump sum payment or weekly payment that includes ten percent interest. When Nook appears for the second time, he hands over the money. Unfortunately the glitch prevents him from doing so.

This is where the confusion begins when Isabelle will deliver the "exact same words" whether the player is selling their town or deleting it. The NPC will ask players twice before deleting the town which is permanent by the way.

If players are successful in selling their town to Nook, they can at least back out and save their town from permanently disappearing. Many Animal Crossing players however are unfamiliar with the new process which is why a lot of them have unintentionally deleted their town.

Meanwhile, Animal Crossing: New Leaf is giving an Amiibo feature that will allow players to change the skin tone of their characters. This is made possible by the Mii Mask item which has not been a favorite among Animal Crossing players. The New Leaf skin tone variety offering is seen as a way to appease players who are not pleased to be limited with one white color, according to Polygon. Animal Crossing though offers players with a lot of clothes to choose from.
