Playboy Model Dani Mahters Facing Charges For Body-Shaming Gym Photo

A former Playboy model Dani Mahters is currently in hot water for snapchatting a picture of an unsuspecting naked woman while she's in the shower room of a fitness gym. Apparently, the picture of the undressed woman was taken without her consent. This action of Mahters has earned her widespread criticism.

Mahters Was Charged With Invasion Of Privacy

According to a TMZ report, former Playboy Model Dani Mahters was charged with invasion of privacy. The report also identified Mahters' victim, who was adamant in pursuing the charges against the former Playboy Playmate. Her complaint is in conjunction with the one filed by Mike Feuer, LA City Attorney.

Body-Shaming Mocks And Tears Down The Victim

The TMZ report also said this particular criminal charge carries with it a fine of $1,000 and a jail sentence of up to six months. "Body-shaming is humiliating, with often painful, long-term consequences," said Attorney Mike Feuer. "It mocks and stigmatizes its victims, tearing down self-respect and perpetuating the harmful idea that our unique physical appearances should be compared to air-brushed notions of 'perfect,'" he added.

Mahters' Arraignment Is Already Set

Former Playboy Model Dani Matters' arraignment is scheduled on Nov. 28. It is not yet known if she already has an attorney. Her problems started in July, when she took the photo of the undressed woman and posted it in Snapchat. She even added the caption: "If I can't unsee this then you can't either." Apparently, she even added her disgust that someone dared to shower in a public place.

When her post received widespread criticism, she apologized and later deleted her accounts in social media. But the damage was already done and the aggrieved woman can't be talked out of her legal actions. The subject of the photo is a 70-year old undressed woman in the shower of a fitness gym.
