Korean Celebrities Who Married Their Fans: Every Fangirl’s Dream Come True

As a fangirl, it is fun to think about how it will be like to be married to your idol. And even if a fangirl thinks of her idol day in and out, at the back of her head, she knows that is it is never going to happen lest even be friends with them.

However, there are actually fans who were lucky enough to get to know their idols and find out a little bit more about them. Yet, once in a blue moon, there is that lucky fangirl who ends up marrying their idol in real life.

Here are some Korean celebrities who fell in love with one of their fans and eventually got married.

Park Hae Il and Seo Yoo Seon

Park Hae Il was still a play actor when he first met his wife Seo Yoo Seon. She was actually in the audience watching him perform on stage. He was immediately captivated and they dated for six years before they got married. Park Hae Il is never afraid to talk about his wife even after all these years. He was quoted saying, "I was captivated by this woman who came to see me perform on stage. I was going through economically tough times. She had part-time jobs, and bought me a lot of drinks. Eventually, I succumbed to her charms and married her."

As of the moment, his wife Seo Yoo Seon, who has always dreamed of being a scriptwriter, has finally fulfilled it and even wrote an episode for a KBS Drama Special titled "Ji Hoon, Born in 1992." They now also share a son together.

Lee Se Joon and Kang Kyung Jin

Singer Lee Se Joon probably said it best, "The best part of marrying a fan is that she understands 100% of the work I do and cheers for it." He always receives a box of handmade cookies in his studio every time he aired his show. The box indicates that the cookies were from his fan named Sae Joon Baragi. During one of his concerts, a female approached him and told him that she is Sae Joon Baragi and that she has been sending her cookies all these time. He then gave her an autograph after the concert.

The two met accidentally met again after a couple of years and ended up marrying each other. It sure sounds like a fairytale.

Yoon Soo Il and Kim Sun Shim

Yoon Soo Il did not know that he will meet her future wife while caring for his dying mother. Many fans were in the hospital to give food and flowers but Kim Sun Shim arrived with nothing to give. He said, "My fans had come with flowers and food to the hospital. My wife came empty-handed, but she stayed the longest. Singer Yoon Soo Il credits his wife for prolonging the life of his mother for six more years.

Hyeri and Hyun Bin

Okay, they did not really marry in real life but Girls' Day's Hyeri is a really big fan of Hyun Bin. One time in an interview, she was asked who his ideal type is. Without hesitation, she said it is Hyun Bin. She was able to fulfill her dream to be with him when she starred in "Hyde, Jekyll, and I" where she starred as a girl who is madly in love with Hyun Bin.

Nicholas Cage and Alice Kim

Here's another fun entry. Nicholas Cage may not be Korean but he married one. Alice Kim was a waitress in a restaurant where he ate. She recognized his familiar face and asked for an autograph. He happily obliged and asked for her phone number in return. The 20-year gap did not bother both of them and if though Alice Kim's mother did not approve of Nicholas Cage, they eventually got married after six months. Sadly, it has been reported that they had recently split up after 11 years of marriage.
