Scarlett Johansson's "Ghost In The Shell" Full Official Trailer Released

Upcoming sci-fi thriller movie is coming soon and the first full official trailer has just been released for "Ghost in the Shell." The movie is based on a manga of the same name created by Masamune Shirow, and then adapted into an anime movie back in 1995. Thus, this will be the first humanized version of the story, starring actress Scarlett Johansson as the lead in the movie.

"Ghost In The Shell" In 2017 Will Tackle Different Plotline, Not The Backstory Of The Film's Protagonist Rather Identifying Oneself

According to the official synopsis of "Ghost in the Shell," Johansson plays the Major, who is bound to lead an anti-terrorist taskforce known as the Section 9, a futuristic concept at that which does away with other films of the same genre. Although only glimpsed a little in the trailer, the villain in the upcoming movie, Kuze, will be portrayed by actor Michael Pitt. There have been reports saying that the upcoming movie will not tackle the backstory or the origin of the protagonist, rather focus on Major's quest to define oneself based on her memories. This storyline s inspired form a plot in the manga, since they are not telling the story of the entire thing, just a portion of it.

There are still a lot of things or concepts in the upcoming movie that they adapted from the anime movie more than a decade ago. Even though not the whole storyline is taken into context, "Ghost in the Shell" is still a story worth telling and Johansson is just as iconic in this science fiction film as much as she is in others. The movie is directed by Rupert Sanders, written by Jonathan Herman and Jamie Moss.

"Ghost in the Shell" will be released to theatres on March 2017.
