"Steven Universe" is almost back with "Gem Harvest" rumored to air earlier than Thanksgiving. It was also recently confirmed that the special episode will not be 30 minutes long as initially reported, but will be a double length run or almost an hour long of viewing. Furthermore, the new promo photo and leaked video clip of the upcoming chapter hints on a new character coming to Beach City which is speculated to be a female.
After being on a hiatus, "Steven Universe" season 4 is already set to air its newest episode on Thursday, Nov. 17. To elevate the excitement of fans, a promo photo and a short preview of "Gem Harvest" were leaked online. As promised, Steven and the Gems will return in their older versions as confirmed by the video clip. A brief description of the episode's synopsis was also released, noting "Steven's autumn visit to the barn brings a new stranger into his life."
Steven's Uncle Is The Stranger
There are numerous theories swirling regarding the new character coming to the show. One of the first to come out claims that the new character is Seven's uncle. From the video, Steven is seen hanging on a plane with the pilot being the new face in the series. It is surmised that the said pilot is a blood-relative of Steven though it is not actually clear whether the character is a male or a female.
Nevertheless, a fan theory presentation explained how the pilot was Steve's uncle. It said that Greg has a brother who is actually a pilot and he is back in town to stay for some time. However, it is also said that the pilot is not necessarily the new character that gets the episode a one-hour run. This then leads to the second theory which strongly claims the "stranger" is a female.
Steven's Fusion Character Is The New Character
Previous rumors have it that Ashly Burch will be joining the voice cast of "Steven Universe" season 4 when it returns. Initial theories say that she is set to voice the fusion character of Steven and Peridot which is supposed to be seen in "Gem Harvest."
This became more solid when the promo photo came out showing Pearl, Amethyst, Lapis, and Peridot looking at something. The picture shows Pearl, Peridot, and Amethyst seemingly shocked, while Garnet and Lapis can be seen smiling. Steven is not in the photo which leads to the theory that the five Gems are looking at Steven in his new form. With whom Steven has fused is still a mystery - as Peridot whom he was rumored to fuse with in the next episode is present in the photo -- but whatever the Gems are looking at involves the male star.
None of these theories are yet confirmed, but the double-length episode is expected to give life to all these theories. "Gem Harvest" will air on Cartoon Network on Nov. 17.
