Apple AirPods May Take Longer To Arrive; Early 2017 Release Date Likely

The Apple AirPods may not be available for purchase any time soon as it was reported. Apple unveiled the wireless AirPods alongside the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus and originally said that it would be available for purchase in October.

However, that did not happen and the fruit company said that it needed more time to get the earphones consumer ready. It is November now and the fancy new wireless earphones are still not available.

Apple AirPod Release Date

There have been many rumors and reports so far, stating that Apple has not started the production. A recent report from Apple reseller Conrad also stated that the AirPods would be available next week. That turned out to be a false report.

According to MacRumors, who received a research note from Barclays Investment Bank, the AirPods would only enter production in December. The research note said that Apple will produce around 10-15 million AirPod units in the first batch. If the demand is good and all the stock is sold-out, then the company would make more units.

If this report is true, then it means that the Apple AirPods release date could be in early January 2017. As per BGR, an early 2017 January release could be very much possible. However, to have good sales, Apple should have it ready before the start of the holiday season.

Will People Buy The Apple AirPod?

Now, the question is, will all the 10 - 15 million units of the AirPods be sold? Yes, the wireless earphone is great, but it does not look that pleasing and actually priced a little expensive. Also, the excitement for a new Apple product may decline as time goes by.

The AirPods were originally supposed to be available in October 2016. Two to three months of delay could hurt the consumer interest.
