Rockstar Games really rock it when it comes to making great titles. After the success of the original Red Dead Redemption 2, Rockstar finally confirms that Red Dead Redemption will be out late in 2017. Knowing Rockstar with its reputation on titles like the GTA franchise, expectations are set to run high for RDR 2. But more than its confirmed release date, we also have plenty of rumors to share including the game's settings, characters and more.

Rockstar Games' Next Goldmine

Analyst Michael Pachter rated Red Dead Redemption 2 with a Metascore of around 92 to 93. GTA V has a Metascore of 96 that makes it almost perfect and RDR 2 is not too far from it. Rockstar Games has a well-known reputation of making high-end games in the past although development really takes a long time for them. Still, it's a contributing factor why Rockstar is able to provide its fans with an even better sequel than previous titles.

Rockstar Games officially announced that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be out by Fall next year. It looks like a long wait and there are already plenty of rumors running around the mill like female characters taking the lead and more. There are also a few features we would like to share to help you prepare for the upcoming game.

Actual Release Date?

Rockstar Games has not issued an exact release date for Red Dead Redemption 2. Judging by the release of GTA V, which was in mid-September, RDR 2 may not be very far from it. Release dates are likely to vary depending on the platform like PS4 and Xbox One and hopefully, on PC. To stay updated on the exact release of the game, Rockstar urges fans to signup for their mailing list.

Pre-Orders

Rockstar Games is expecting that at least 12 million copies of RDR 2 will be out upon its release. But since that number is still an estimate, they already made their newest title available on pre-order way ahead of its release date. Red Dead Redemption 2 will be available on pre-order in several retailers like GameStop, Best Buy and Amazon. Of course, Rockstar will have their game available on pre-order and Sony will also make it available on pre-order for Xbox One owners.

Red Dead Redemption 2 On Several Platforms

Right now, what we know is that the sequel for Red Dead Revolver will be available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Almost a month ago, the original Red Dead Redemption was made available on PC via PlayStation Now. Developers have not yet confirmed the availability of Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC. But there's hope that they are likely to release the title on PC a few months after its official release, as analysts believe. Something similar to what they did with Grand Theft Auto 5. There is no clear indication whether RDR 2 will be available on the upcoming Nintendo Switch or older consoles like Wii U, Xbox 360 or PS3.

Game Rumors; Settings, Maps, Characters And More

Red Dead Redemption 2 is set into the wild, wild west. But expectations of a single-player mode in an expansive environment look to be confirmed after Rockstar says that RDR 2 will be an "epic tale of life" in the unforgiving heartland of America. No actual characters were confirmed in the RDR 2 teaser but speculations of John Marston leading to a prequel are somewhat strong among fans.

The setting is also predicted to be set in the late 1890's and there's a vast and atmospheric world that gamers should look forward to. There are fenced ranches, trains on the countryside, vivid hilly landscapes, and a western setting never seen before. The chaotic town life mixed with the farm animals also make RDR 2's setting even more realistic in its western setting.

Similar to GTA 5, Rockstar was also reported to register an online domain for Red Dead Redemption. Possible maps and locations are also leaked making fans get a first look in the home of the Blackwater settlement, The Great Plains and other more locations that are quite missing with the original Red Dead Redemption.

The highlight of Red Dead Redemption 2 is its characters centered around seven men. Previous titles from the series like Red Dead Revolver and Red Dead Redemption both focused on just one central protagonist, Red Harlow and John Marston. Basically, assuming that the seven will all be protagonists into the game is still unsure. But who knows? RDR 2 is rumored to use multiple protagonists, another similarity if it proves true with GTA 5's three different protagonists, all of whom are playable.
