Hyundai Drops A Bombshell With Creta STC Pickup Concept Unveiled In Brazil

Following the Santa Cruz Concept, Hyundai drops another bombshell with Creta STC pickup concept unveiled in Brazil during the 2016 Sao Paolo Auto Show. Hyundai has been doing well in the SUV and other markets but the pickup segment is a new one. However, it would seem that the Korean automaker seriously wants to enter another market as it adds another pickup in its lineup.

The Hyundai Creta STC Pickup Concept

According to a report from Paultan, the STC means Sport Truck Concept. This pickup has a measurement of 4.65 meters in length, 1.85 meters in width and 1.63 meters in height. The same report stated that it has a 2.8-meter long wheelbase and it is longer by 38cm and wider by 7cm than the Creta.

Other Visual Features

Auto Industriya reported that the Hyundai STC Pickup Concept has the automaker's signature trapezoidal grill, which is then paired by thin headlights and LED daytime running lights (DRLs) coming in strips fashion. The sides sport a futuristic look with its combination of long character lines and sharp angles. Suicide doors, 21-inch allow wheels, high-mounted stop lamp, aerodynamic side mirrors and a dual-exhausts incorporated rear diffuser complete the Hyundai STC concept's exterior look.

The Hyundai Creta STC Pickup Concept Powertrain

There have not been any details revealed yet regarding the powertrain of the Hyundai Creta STC Pickup Concept. However, it is reported that it might possibly make use of either the 1.6 and 2.0-liter naturally-aspirated petrol engines found in the Creta or the 1.4 and 1.6-liter turbocharged diesel engines that will all be paired with an automatic and manual transmission in six-speed specs.

Release Date And Will It Make Its Way North

The report from Auto Industriya stated that while the Hyundai Santa Cruz's production will start this month, there is no confirmation yet regarding when the production period of the Creta STC pickup concept will start. As to whether or not the new pickup from Hyundai will make its way to North America, remains to be seen when the actual production starts and is officially released on the market.
