The Leviathan in the Final Fantasy lore is a summon that makes its habitation in the water. Leviathan is one of the massive beasts you will encounter in Final Fantasy XV. It was first introduced in Final Fantasy II and became one of the favorite summons along with Rahamut. One of its abilities is chewing its enemies to death using its pointed mouth.

Leviathan was first introduced during the FFXV trailer causing havoc in Altissia as Noctis and his friends fight enemies from Nilfheim. According to Final Fantasy lore, Leviathan is a beautiful woman full of elegance and appeal but disguises herself as a scary monster as she moves around.

Aside from Leviathan, Final Fantasy XV also introduces some special characters along the way, which will serve as the group's allies and will fight alongside their group. You can issue a command on these characters as you can link their attacks with the group.

One of those is Cor leonis, a general armed with a very huge sword which he uses to take down his enemies. Another one is Iris Amicitia who uses an oversized Moogle during battles. According to the information, Moogles can be thrown using battles to distract enemies.

The characters also have their own special characteristics and abilities. For example, Noctis love fishing and the more fish he catches, the more his abilities increase. Ignis loves cooking and the more monsters they defeat, the more ingredients he can acquire. The foods he cooked can be used to increase their power and abilities during battles. Prompto is into photography while Gladiolus loves collecting items dropped by monsters.
