Nintendo Switch News Update: Buyers Can Now Pre-Order For $250

The Nintendo Switch is now available for pre-order ahead of its scheduled March 2017 launch date. Is it a wise investment to call and reserve one now?

Nintendo Switch Pre-Sale Offer

British retailer GameSeek recently launched a Nintendo Switch pre-sale offer of £198.50 (roughly $250). Customers should receive the gaming unit on March 17, 2017 although the retailer said that the final release date will depend on Nintendo. The retailer also guarantees free shipping and no additional charges as long as buyer resides within the United Kingdom.

Is The Pre-Sales Offer Too Good To Be True?

GameSeek's pre-sales offer seems too attractive to pass up but skeptics recommend caution. The $250 pre-sale price indicates that buyers will get the Nintendo Switch basic model. For those who want the bundled version or unit with extra storage, this pre-sale offer is not for you.

The Nintendo Switch $250 retail price is based on an earlier report that Nintendo does not intend to sell the basic unit for less than $250. The bundled game unit with additional storage is estimated to cost around $315. Pundits advised interested Switch buyers to wait for a while and wait for better deals that are sure to come.

Other Nintendo Switch Details

Nintendo company officials promise to reveal more information about the Switch on January 2017. There are reports that the bundled game will no longer be a Zelda title but a Mario game set in a 3D open world environment.

Interest for the Nintendo Switch is growing due to its hybrid console-handheld platform. Reports also indicate that gamers will be able to play Skyrim both on the console and handheld unit. The fact that outside game developers are already contributing this early to the Switch gaming library indicates that players will have more titles to choose from. The Switch is scheduled to officially come out on March 17, 2017.
