Ever since Rip Hunter was last seen on the hit TV series "Legends of tomorrow," many fans have been wondering what really happened to him. Is he ever coming back? Now, there are rumors and spoilers that indicate he just might be back. But not in the way most fans would expect it.

The Original Time Traveller Of "Legends" Will Be Back

Rip Hunter was the original time traveler and the leader who built the team of "Legends of Tomorrow." But when he disappeared from the scene, no one was ever informed of his whereabouts, or if he is still alive. Now, a cast member of the show has revealed some juicy details about Rip Hunter.

Maisie Richardson-Sellers, who portrays Vixen in the "Legends of Tomorrow" revealed that Rip Hunter will be back. But the way she spoke about Rip is that it will not be Arthur Darvill who will be back. Will the role of the original time traveler be given to another actor? "He does come back," said Maisie in a CinemaBlend interview. "just not necessarily the Rip that we remember. That's sort of what is a big part of the second half of the season," she added.

Why Did Darvill Leave In The First Place?

There is a report which seems to give a reason for Darvill's exit from the "Legends of Tomorrow." It appears that he took time off the hit TV show in order to reprise his role in "Broadchurch," an ITV series. He plays the role of Rev. Paul Coates in this TV show.

"They were very kind on Legends - Broadchurch is something that's been going on for a while, so they had to work around that," Darvill said in an interview with Digital Spy. "I was so pleased to finish off that journey on Broadchurh," he added. When asked if he will return to "Legends of Tomorrow," Darvill said: "Yeah, I do come back, in some way, to Legends of Tomorrow... but I can't talk about that!"
