Stardew Valley Coming Soon To Nintendo Switch, Xbox One And PS4 Versions Hit December

The indie game Stardew Valley made quite a hit for PC when it was rolled out. Now, it will invade the PS4 and Xbox One before this year ends. It has been announced by ConcernedApe, the hit game's indie developer. Everyone already knew this was coming but the dates weren't revealed back then.

PS4 owners will get to enjoy Stardew Valley on Dec. 13, Xbox One users will enjoy the very same game the day after. The game was also announced for the Wii U but since the said console is riding towards the sunset, the plan was cancelled. In place for the Wii U, the Nintendo Switch will be receiving its own version of Stardew Valley, no particular date is announced since the handheld-console hybrid is still in the works.

ConcernedApe had also difficulty in deciding to drop the Wii U version and pursue with Switch, "Looking at Wii U and the current gaming landscape, we made the difficult choice to shift our development efforts to creating a version for Nintendo Switch,"

Since Nintendo seems to be distancing from the Wii U, it is not shocking to realize that ConcernedApe decided to drop their plans for Stardew Valley for the said console. The developers also expressed that the Nintendo Switch can offer opportunities for their game and that they are committed to put Stardew Valley on a Nintendo - which is a dream come true for indie devs.

Stardew Valley launched this year on PC after spending more than three years in development. The game was an instant hit. Players describe its gameplay a hybrid between Animal Crossing and Harvest Moon. With regards to price, Stardew Valley was sold for $14.99 on PC, so it is safe to say the prices for the console versions would be around that price, though there were no official statements released about it.
