"I Am Not Useless!" Rants Jennifer Aniston On Pregnancy

Jennifer Joanna Aniston is an American actress, producer, and businesswoman. Aniston gained worldwide recognition for portraying Rachel Green on the popular television sitcom Friends (1994–2004), a role which earned her a Primetime Emmy Award, a Golden Globe Award, and a Screen Actors Guild Award. Aniston launched into a rant about pregnancy rumors during an appearance on Lorraine today, declaring that women should not be branded “useless” if they don’t have a baby.

The Hollywood actress sat down for a chat with Lorraine Kelly, and opened up to the TV veteran about the perceived problems in her personal life. She insisted battles baby rumors every time she “has a burger for lunch” and she said that the speculation needs to stop. The 47-year-old actress, opened up about on Lorraine today the issue on a passionate plea for women to be treated with more respect. She said:

If I am some kind of symbol to some people out there, then clearly I am an example of the lens through which we, as a society, view our mothers, daughters, sisters, wives, female friends and colleagues. The objectification and scrutiny we put women through is absurd and disturbing.

According to The Sun, the actress hit headlines over the summer when she released a statement to clear up rumors she was expecting a baby with husband Justin Theroux. "I may become a mother some day, and since I’m laying it all out there, if I ever do, I will be the first to let you know. But I’m not in pursuit of motherhood because I feel incomplete in some way," Aniston explained.

Truth About Pregnancy

Pregnancy, also known as gravidity or gestation, is the time during which one or more offspring develops inside a woman. A multiple pregnancy involves more than one offspring, such as with twins. Pregnancy can occur by sexual intercourse or assisted reproductive technology. It usually lasts around 40 weeks from the last menstrual period (LMP) and ends in childbirth.

This is just over nine lunar months, where each month is about 29½ days. When measured from conception it is about 38 weeks. An embryo is the developing offspring during the first eight weeks following conception, after which, the term fetus is used until birth. Symptoms of early pregnancy may include missed periods, tender breasts, nausea and vomiting, hunger, and frequent urination.
