So, You're A Fan Of Horror Games, You Should Take A Look At This

If you are a fan of horror games, then this one is for you - a free horror game created in Source. This chilling game reminds you of both Silent Hill and Inside but maybe more bizarre.

Tenebra is dark and full of shadows, literally and figuratively speaking. It gives you the feel of a moonless night with all the night creatures making some strange, weird sounds while you chatter with fear at a corner afraid of even moving. As the developer describes it, Tenebra is inspired by the silent horror films, like Noserfatu.

The goal of the game is even haunting: find who is responsible for the series of murder sprees happening around town.

Most of the time, you will find yourself walking alone in the dark and following glow-in-the-dark orbs that lead you to mysterious photographs. They don't hold any clue or objective so you don't really know what their purpose are. Maybe as the game progresses, you'll be able to find the use for them.

Unlike Silent Hill and Resident Evil, you don't have to fight monsters or zombies here but the monochrome visuals are very effective in giving the game its general eerie mode, such as disturbing silhouettes, dark patches that gives you zero visibility, and scary shadows. You will see some occasional corpses, though.

Tenebra is definitely worth the look and it's free. All you have to do is install the Source SDK Base 2013 Singleplayer. Here is a step-by-step guide to get Tenebra.

To install the SDK, go to Steam and go to tools to find the Source SDK Base 2013 Singleplayer. Download and install. After that, download and install Tenebra but first you have to unzip it to your sourcemods folder. After that, re-start team to find Tenebra in your Library.

Don't forget, make sure that you turn your HDR options because the game relies heavily on HDR.
