Mazda 2017 CX-9 Review: Lacks A Bit Of Power But Has Overall Great Rating

The 2017 Mazda CX-9 has enough room for seven people and it has a style fit for an iconic SUV. Everything is good so far. The power aspect however, is not as good as it should be.

A Taste Of Exterior Style

The 2017 Mazda CX-9 has gone through visual changes. According to a report from Drive South, the 2017 Mazda CX-9 now appears bigger than the previous model. The front section features thinner headlights along with an overall meaner looking nose. The rear section shows taillights that have a distinctive looks as compared to its competitors.

The Mazda CX-9's Interior And Features

The 2017 Mazda CX-9 has a very roomy interior packed with a lot of great features. It has a central screen situated on the dashboard that controls the contemporary infotainment system along with a 12-speaker Bose audio system that is perfect for road trips as reported by Business Insider. Other features include a navigation system from Mazda together with safety features such as blind monitoring, lane-departure warning and emergency braking.

Engine And Fuel Economy

The 2017 Mazda CX-5 is equipped with the new Skyactiv-G 2.5T direct-injection Inline-4 engine that uses the Dynamic Pressure Turbo from other models and is capable of putting out 277 horsepower as reported. There are no details yet regarding the exact fuel economy range but it is  close to the 22/28/25 miles per gallon in the city, highway and combined respectively of the previous model.

While the 2017 Mazda CX-9 has a decent 277 horsepower under its belt, its rivals from Ford and GMC offer more as reported. However, despite how the 2017 Mazda CX-9 lacks a bit of power, it has an overall great rating. This would still make it a great family SUV.
