"Once Upon a Time" season 6 episode 10, the midseason finale, aired on Sunday, Dec. 4. ABC's fairytale series will be on a long winter hiatus and it is scheduled to return in March 2017. While the last episode had numerous revelations and a great cliffhanger, viewers are concerned if season 6 will be the last installment of the series. There are rumors that "Once Upon a Time" season 7 has been canceled, taking into account the slumping ratings this season.

"Once Upon A Time" Season 6 Ratings

There is no denying that "Once Upon a Time" season 6 features exciting developments for all the characters in Storybrooke. There were a lot of shocking developments in the tale and more connections between the fates of the characters were revealed.

All these were fascinating for Oncers who are following the series but based on the ratings, ABC's show is struggling. Based on the rating charts, the show is down by 30 percent at 1.07 compared to its performance during the same time last year where it had a 1.57 rating.

"Once Upon A Time" Cancelled

Given the performance of ABC's Disney drama, the show can still be redeemed if the ratings improve when season 6 returns for its second half in March 2017. ABC's announcement for the show's renewal or cancelation would most likely happen in May 2017.

"Once Upon a Time's" ratings dipped this season but ABC could still give the series another year. At the moment, ABC's Sunday schedule is going to have a full overhaul since "Quantico" was moved to a Monday schedule and it will be the last season for "Secrets and Lies."

There is no need to worry about the series going off the air right away unless the ratings for the upcoming premiere dip significantly. The cancelation table for SpoilerTV lists OUAT as safe as of its current standing.
