NES Classic Edition Stock News: Best Buy And Think Geek Will Re-Stock Real Soon

A couple of retail stores will be offering the holiday hit, the NES Classic Edition, in the coming days.

ThinkGeek a retail company that "caters to computer enthusiasts and geek culture", will have limited stocks of the hard-to-find mini NES console come Dec. 20. But the store is not offering the consoles straight up. Those who wish to get their hands on one should have signed up to the company's website. Those who did are included in the pool from which ThinkGeek will choose the lucky ones who will get a chance to buy the modern take on a gaming classic.

ThinkGeek started accepting reservations for the consoles online through its website last Dec. 7. The customers were asked to add the console to their Wish List. The reservation ended on Dec. 12 at 10 a.m. EST.

Customers who were able to sign up received an email with the NES Classic codes. Timmy, the stores Spokesmonkey, is given the task to select the batches of customers who have placed the mini NES on their Wish List. Those selected have 24 hours to use the code. If they fail to do so, they lose the chance to buy a NES Classic Edition. The console will then be up for raffle again giving other customers a chance to take home the extremely device.

As with the case of other retail stores, ThinkGeek's mini NES stock is limited. The exact number of consoles up for raffle is not known so those who joined the raffle are advised to stay tuned lest they lose their chance to use the code and buy the mini NES.

Over at Columbus, Nintendo fans are fidgeting in their seats while waiting for Dec. 20 to come. Best Buy recently announced that a limited quantity of the console will be available on that date in the retail company's three local stores. No reservations will be accepted as the store decided to offer the console on a first-come, first-served basis.

While the lack of mini NES in the United States has become legendary, so to say, some countries are actually faring better. Target Australia recently received stocks while the Impulse Gaming store in Malaysia posted a photo of 100 units of NES Classic Edition for sale.
