‘Naruto Shippudden' Gets Hollywood Live-Action Remake; Upcoming 'Boruto: Naruto Next Generations' Anime Reveals Trailer And More Details

Fans of Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura will finally have something else to look forward to as the story continues with new productions. It has just been announced that the popular anime series is getting a film adaptation. Meanwhile, the awaited anime adaptation featuring the children of the three aforementioned main characters has been finally confirmed.

Just recently, it was announced at the Jump Festa event for the “Naruto” and “Boruto” stages that “Naruto Shippudden” will be getting a live action film adaptation. It has also been announced that the upcoming film has been picked up by Lionsgate and has signed up Michael Gracey to direct the movie while Erik Feig, Geoff Shaveitz, and Kelly O’Malley will be spearheading the production. Lionsgate reportedly has closed negotiations with Masashi Kishomoto and has acquired the filming rights in July 2015.

Masashi Kishomoto is the creator of the “Naruto” manga series that was adapted into anime television series and other entertainment productions. Meanwhile, Michael Gracey is known for his various works in productions as part of the visual effects, digital composition, and as producer. The upcoming “Naruto” live action adaptation is the two of the first movies he will be directing. He is set to direct “The Greatest Showman”, which stars Zac Efron and set to premiere sometime in 2017.

Aside from a live action movie, the story of “Naruto Shippuden” continues as a new season has been confirmed following the lives of the new younger generation. The story will continue with the new anime called “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations”, which is based on the original manga series of the same title by Ukyo Kodachi and Masashi Kishimoto. A trailer was released revealing Boruto, Sarada, Mitsuki and Naruto as the main cast of the new series, which is based on the manga of the same title released in May 2016.

The three new characters were first introduced in the animated film titled “Boruto”, which was released in August 2015. Since then fans have been asking for more since it featured more of the familiar main characters in their new lives with their children and new responsibilities. "Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" will premiere on TV Tokyo in April 2017 and will also be streamed on Crunchyroll. The main characters will be voiced by Yuko Sanpei, Kokoro Kikuchi, Ryuichi Kijima, and Junko Takeuchi.

After the revelation of “Boruto”, Masashi Kishimoto has promised that he will make the story even better than “Naruto”. Boruto is the son of Naruto Uzumaki and Hinata Hyuga. Just like the usual ninja setting in Konoha Village, Boruto is grouped with two more characters namely Sarada and Mitsuki, forming a three-ninja team. Sarada is the daughter of Sasuke Uchiha and Sakura Haruno while Mitsuki is deemed the son of Orochimaru.

The “Boruto” movie and some anime episodes have already showcased what these three youngsters can do given they have also inherited their parents’ powers and skills. Fans are earnestly anticipating the anime to feature more of the children and their powers especially Himawari Uzumaki, who is Boruto’s sister. Since the upcoming anime will be based on the “Boruto” manga series, the fans will be treated to a vivid portrayal of the younger characters as they grow up in a peaceful era in the Konoha village and face off new powerful villains with the help of their infamous elders.
