Just last week, EA teased the coming of a new DLC to its titular title Battlefield 1. It's called They Shall Not Pass, which is expected to be unleashed along with a couple of new features. And now, new sets of images have been released, giving the fans a sneak peek at what it's all about. Judging by the photos, it seems the community is in for a huge treat!
In the official site of the game, a blog post discusses what it calls the "concept exploration images." This basically refers to the forthcoming DLC's all-new multiplayer maps. Apparently, these represent the vision developer DICE has for the hit first-person shooter game. However, it's yet to be final; hence changes could arrive prior to the release of the aforesaid content.
One of the Battlefield 1 images depicts a wild fire in a forest. The studio explains that during that time, around 1 million bullets were fired, leading to the devastation of the terrain. It's worth noting that the They Shall Not Pass DLC is set in the infamous Battle of Verdun, which took place in France.
Apart from the aforementioned, the photos also showcase a version of a village called Samogneux. Unfortunately, it's wrecked by war (also expected to be one of the main focuses of the maps in the upcoming DLC). Another one will be more about the battles that happened inside the Fort Vaux.
The Battlefield 1 developer explains that the French and Germans "fought ferociously," leading to massive destruction. From grenades to flamethrowers to poison gasses, these were all thrown and fired. The battles resulted to the Earth being a "shattered lunar landscape."
Aside from the brand new map, the DLC will also feature a couple more weapons as well as dog tags. As for those who purchased the Premium Pass (priced at $50), they'll gain access to the content two weeks earlier. Regular players will then be able to acquire it thereafter.
