Pokemon Sun and Moon was reportedly listed as one of the most-played games of the year. Apparently, both Pokemon Sun and Moon and Final Fantasy were noted among the best sellers for the holiday. In the meantime, the Pokemon GO Holiday event is still ongoing with a second batch beginning Dec. 31, 2016.
Releasing Close To The Holiday Shopping Season Helped Boost Pokemon Sun And Moon Sales
The Pokemon Company launched the game on Nov. 18, 2016, a month before the holiday season. On the other hand, Final Fantasy 15 was released on Nov. 29, 2016. Apparently, launching near the holiday shopping season may have boosted sales for the games despite launching near the end of the year.
Moreover, Pokemon Sun and Moon was also noted as the fastest selling 3DS title as well as the fastest selling Nintendo title in the U.S. Apparently, not only has Pokemon Sun and Moon broken several records but the game has also topped the sales charts at the same time.
Final Fantasy 15 PS4 version on the other hand topped the online retailer's list. Other titles that reportedly did well in Amazon were Uncharted 4, The Division and Battlefield 1. Interestingly, none of the three titles topped the holiday bestsellers list for Amazon.
