Donald Trump Tweets About Mexican Built American Cars, Threatens To Charge GM High Border Taxes
On Tuesday morning, President Donald Trump greeted his 18 million Twitter followers by tweeting one of the world's biggest corporation, General Motors. The president tweeted that the company, famous for manufacturing America's well-known muscle cars, has been manufacturing their cars in a factory in Mexico. He also threatened the company to either make the cars in America or prepare to have massive taxes.
Pay Big Border Taxes Or Build In The United States
To be exact, the tweet was "General Motors is sending Mexican made a model of Chevy Cruze to U.S. car dealers tax-free across border. Make in U.S.A. of pay big border tax!" The statement has reached 18,000 re-tweets and has resulted in a 24 percent decline in the company's stocks. General Motors has put their executive heads together and make a quick move to save the company's reputation.
All Chevy Cars In The United States Was Built In The United States
General Motors made a statement on the same day that all Chevy Cruze cars being distributed to the U.S. are built in their assembly plant located in Lordstown, Ohio. The car company stated that the cars built in their Mexico factory are for global markets. Only 4500 or two percent is being sold in the United States.
