Motorola X Phone May Be Followed By Three Other Handsets This Year

A new report from Phone Arena has surfaced indicating that Motorola will be releasing three phones following the X Phone that will not be part of the X Phone or Nexus lineup.

Few details are provided, however the report indicates that two of the phones would launch in the third quarter. One is larger than the other and a third phone is set to launch in the fourth quarter. The report reiterates a previous development indicating that the X Phone will not support customizable hardware, as was once believed.

The report stated that the third phone "may be offered unlocked at a price point that may be lower than the Nexus 4." As for the X Phone, the report stated that the "release Window has always been for late June or July for the handset, so there has been no delay."

However, these details are unconfirmed and cannot be verified at this time.

Recent rumors for the X Phone indicate that it will have an "exclusive launch" in July, followed by a broader launch in November. Accordingly, the phone could be sold exclusively on the Google Play store. It would also mean that the phone would likely be shown at the Google I/O conference in May and would likely be the first to launch with Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie.

Another rumor stated that, while the X Phone will not have customizable hardware, it will have customizable features, including outer casing, wallpapers, ringtones, apps and more. It's also likely that the device won't be a major competitor with the Galaxy S4 and iPhone 6. It should be similar to the HTC One in terms of specs and should also be competitively priced.

While the X Phone would offer extra features, it is expected that the Nexus will be a more traditional Android device.
