Facebook Phone UI Photos Leak Before The Company Officially Announces Smartphone

The first screenshots of what the Facebook Home smartphone user interface looks like have leaked. The images show a lightly tweaked Android UI that will include one-tap access to posting Facebook status updates, sharing photos and check-ins.

When looking at the screenshots, you can see Facebook has not strayed far from the Android UI most people know, unlike Amazon's Kindle Fire, which completely skins Android, making it unrecognizable. Facebook took more of a minimalistic approach with how it's presenting its first smartphone and its user interface.

9to5Google has posted a few screenshots showing off what is believed to be the Facebook phone UI. There are widgets, home screens, application tray and other similar features of Android smartphones. The notification screen appears to use your Facebook cover photo as its background. The smartphone includes Facebook apps like Instagram, Facebook Messenger, and of course, the official Facebook Android app.  There does not appear to be any carrier bloatware, at least in these screenshots.

Facebook has deeply integrated all of its services into the smartphone, such as in all of the sharing menus, and in the Galley app. Facebook wants users to be able to perform Facebook functions without ever needing to be in the application itself.

Don't make any mistake about it, this Faeebook phone is a great tool and might make your Facebook experience on an Android smartphone a little better. But you'll have to ask yourself if it's really worth it to give Facebook as much information as our smartphones already currently have: carriers, developers and more. Facebook is looking out for you, while you're looking out for it.
