Pokemon GO Update: Gender Differences Arrived Secretly To The Game

As mentioned over different articles online, Niantic has been all over Pokemon GO these past few weeks. That's because the studio has been very passionate in releasing updates after updates. The most recent one added one key change, which affected the way the distance and GPS drift work in the game. Apparently, there's actually one that made it to the cut. The only catch? Well, it was added secretly.

According to iDigitalTimes, one significant feature was actually added to Pokemon GO via the aforementioned update. The only difference is that the studio didn't bother to make it official or part of the patch notes. It's basically the gender differences in all Pokemon. This one here was more specific to the ever titular creature named Pikachu.

The well-known Pokemon GO community The Silph Road made a very interesting observation about this gender feature. The sub-Reddit offered a couple of images, all of which claim that the game has a female Pikachu. In fact, whenever a male one is captured, it can be evolved into a female Raichu.

Reports suggest that, as of the moment, the gender differences in Pokemon GO is best applied to the aforesaid creature. That's because it's the most popular specie in the game. These female Pokemon appear to have a heart-like shape at the end of their lightning bolt tails. The males, on the other hand, only have an ordinary one. For the evolved ones (Raichu), they're not that obvious. Nonetheless, the females have shorter tails compared to opposite sex.

It's worth noting that this feature doesn't entirely affect the gameplay in Pokemon GO. There's no corresponding combat power or change, among others. Instead, it's more of the way Pokemon will look. Purely aesthetics, that is.

What are your thoughts on Pokemon GO having gender differences? Have you noticed the characteristics of each gender as described above? Let us know what you're thinking at the comment section below!
