2013 Ford Kuga: Price, Specs And USA Version

Production of the 2013 Ford Kuga is projected to go up by 10 percent this year in response to increased demand in Europe. Total production will therefore reach about 100,000 vehicles annually.

The 2013 Ford Kuga is the most high-tech car that Ford has ever released in Europe. Its technological features include Ford SYNC with Emergency Assist, Ford's Intelligent All-Wheel Drive system and Curve Control, which allows for safe cornering.

"The new Kuga is a smarter SUV that offers a comprehensive array of technologies including the segment-first hands-free tailgate, and debuts Ford's global intelligent all-wheel-drive system," Roelant de Waard, vice president of Marketing, Sales and Service for Ford of Europe said. "This significant production increase is a very promising start to an SUV rollout that is spearheaded by the new Kuga and leverages Ford's historic leadership in SUVs in North America and other regions to bring to Europe the all-new EcoSport, and alter the Ford Edge."

The Ford Kuga will be sold in the U.S. as the 2013 Ford Escape. In late March Ford released the price for the Ford Kuga in Australia, starting at $27,990. The 2013 Ford Escape starts at $32,120.

The design of the new 2013 Ford Kuga doesn't stray far from the previous version. It is more spacious, offering more room for luggage and passengers. Coming in both petrol and diesel options, the 2.0-liter diesel engine will allow drivers to go from 0 to 60 in 9.9 seconds. Honda also made a bold move in the diesel arena recently, launching the Honda Amaze in India, the first diesel sedan the company launched in the country.
