Apple iPhone 6 Rumors, Features And Concepts That Won't Happen

The Apple rumor mill has been cranking out "news" about the iPhone 6 since before even the iPhone 5 was released. We've heard everything from iPhone 6 release date rumors, talk of new and improbable iPhone 6 features and seen some of the most ridiculous iPhone 6 concept images this side of a Photoshop enthusiasts' club.

The iPhone 6 release date will likely fall sometime in Q1 of 2014, with an outside chance that Apple will debut the handset in October 2013. In the meantime, there's no shortage of fun to be had with all the speculation and rumors surrounding the Apple iPhone 6, so we've collected a couple of our favorite concept renderings to pick apart in all their absurdity.

iPhone 6 Rumors & Features: Wraparound Display?

This is definitely one of the more out-there iPhone 6 concepts that we've seen. Ironically, as Cult of Mac points out, it's actually based on a real Apple patent.

While an iPhone with a flexible screen and wraparound display might happen sometime in the future, there's no way it'll be as early as iPhone 6, and it definitely won't look like a long, squished cylinder that will never fit in any pocket.

iPhone 6 Rumors & Features: Sans Home Button?

We brought you Martin Hajek's concept back in March, which echoed design rumors we've been hearing since the launch of the original iPhone.  Namely: No bezels and no home button on the iPhone 6.

While it's very possible Apple will work to reduce the bezel even more on the iPhone 6, we're not giving much credence to the Home Button removal rumors. For one thing, the Home Button is one of iPhone's most iconic features and an iPhone 6 or iPad 5 or really any future iOS device without a Home Button is basically unthinkable.

If you take a look at the concept images, the totally clean front makes the device look more like the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S4, which is probably something Apple would like to avoid with the iPhone 6.
